The Consumerization of DNA

Why it’s now time for companies like 23andMe and uBiome to go mainstream. Direct-to-consumer genetic testing (or DTC GC) has unofficially been dubbed the Wild West of Genomics. This is largely due to genetic services offered outside of the traditional healthcare system and without the involvement of a health professional. Tests are ordered online and delivered […]

FounderDating – A Wealth of Entrepreneurial Insight

Last year, I applied to be part of the FounderDating Network. In a nutshell, it’s an online hub of pre-screened entrepreneurs who excel in engineering, business development or design. Most of us likely joined because we were looking for a talented individual to hop on board our own, personal startup trains. Although my venture never […]

Investors in Kelowna? They do exist.

Last night I discovered a secret. There are investors in Kelowna. For the last 8 weeks, my co-founder and I participated in Accelerate Okanagan’s investor-ready pitch contest, Jump:Start:Challenge. metabridge happened last weekend in my home town, Kelowna.  It’s a small city in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia, Canada, and relatively new to the Canadian tech scene.  This premier event aimed to connect top Canadian start-ups with Silicon Valley (www.metabridge.ca). I eagerly signed up for the complementary talk sponsored by Accelerate Okanagan.  It was […]
