A little info about me:

I’m a Saskatchewan gal at my core, but have been in BC, Canada for almost 20 years. I’ve dabbled in the arts, fine arts, science and business.

Previously, I worked as the Communications Coordinator for the Okanagan Valley’s tech incubator, Accelerate Okanagan.

I’ve also published with Techvibes on the topic of startups & entrepreneurship. I’ve got a failed startup under my belt and I am a former volunteer for Startup Canada, as their Social Media Director. I’m slightly obsessed with being online and really need to startup (err…I mean start) distancing myself from the ol’ iPhone – we’re getting way too close.

In 2010, I received my Masters of Science in Biology from the University of British Columbia in Kelowna, BC, Canada. I studied apples, bacteria and fungus in one of the most beautiful valleys in the country. During my time as a graduate student, I was fortunate to have received a generous scholarship from the folks over at the BC Innovation Council, which really got me thinking about science and business. Prior to that, I received my Bachelor of Science with Distinction, with a major in Biology and a minor in English Literature from the University of Victoria.

I have active interest in writing and communicating scientific/technical ideas to the general public. My writing portfolio can be found here

I love Okanagan wines, local eats, writing, pondering the meaning of life, embracing clichés and typing the word ‘startup’ every time I mean to type ‘start.’
